Professional Organizations

Representatives of Missouri's professional organizations focused on public health are working together to achieve collective impact, uniting their voices around public health issues, supporting workforce development and creating a stronger public health system.



Mission and Vision

Vision: United for Public Health

Mission: Leading public health collective impact through advocacy, collaboration, communication, and workforce development.

In August 2018, the group set ten goals around their four mission areas. The goals include uniting around key public health issues, formalizing the group's structure and developing a sustainability plan. The group will identifiy internal and external communication processes and will research workforce development opportunities to benefit public health professionals.

Accomplishments

  • Improved trust as a result of collaboration led group to explore ideas to maximize CHIP funding in Missouri.
  • October 2018 - letter sent out to foundations in support of #HealthierMO initiative.
  • January 2019 - letter sent out to Governor Parsons describing value in creating a statewide prescription drug monitoring program.
  • August 2019 - group identified top public health priorities on which to begin education and advocacy campaigns.
